Over the years a woman’s breasts can lose their shape and youthful appearance due to many reasons, including: Pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging and loss of skin elasticity. This can result in deflated and saggy (ptotic) appearing breasts.
A mastopexy procedure aims at tightening and reshaping the sagging breasts to restore a more natural shape and firmness of the breasts. If there is also significant volume loss to the breasts which might occur following massive weight loss then breast augmentation can be recommended in addition.

Before and After Photos
Surgical Method
We employ the most up to date concepts in our surgical techniques. The operation for breast mastopexy is performed under general anesthesia. The technique applied is based on individual patient parameters, anatomical characteristics and most importantly the degree of breast skin excess and ptosis. During the surgery, skin excess is removed and the breasts are re-shaped and positioned higher giving the patient lifted and more shapely breasts. The nipples are also adjusted making their size and position more symmetrical and very often smaller. Scars cannot be completely avoided regardless of the technique employed. However, meticulous skin suture techniques are used to ensure the most inconspicuous scars possible. In general, most scars fade over time resulting in youthful more shapely appearing breasts.
Post Operative Care
After the surgery, the wounds will be covered with dressings and tapes and/or a surgical bra to hold the breasts in place. Often two drains are placed. They are usually removed 1-2 days postoperatively. Mobilization after the surgery is possible, however strenuous physical activities and heavy lifting should be avoided for 4-6 weeks.
There will be some degree of bruising and swelling, which tends to subside gradually over a few weeks. A breast lift procedure can achieve an improved and more feminine appearing breast shape.
Patients tend to be delighted that they no longer feel self-conscious when not wearing a push-up bra or padded bikini top.
FAQ: Breast Lift Operation
Can I still breast feed after a breast lift operation?
Theoretically, any type of breast operation has a potential for decreasing the chances that a patient will be able to successfully breast-feed. A breast lift results in more shapely, and fuller appearance of the breasts by raising of the nipple-areolar complex to an appropriate position. There is an incision made around the areola along with some rearrangement of the breast tissue including the milk ducts. This can also vary depending on the technique used. Despite this it is possible in most cases for women to breastfeed after surgery.
Is it possible to perform breast enlargement using fat transfer in combination with a breast lift procedure?
A breast lift procedure helps to create shapely breasts with elevation of the nipple-areolar complex by removing excess sagging skin. However, it does change the size of the breast. If breast enlargement is also desired in addition, then the harvested fat from unwanted areas such as the stomach or legs can be processed and injected into the breasts to give the desired shape and size.
